Self-Rescue & Survival for Clementon & Lindenwold

On Saturday November 21st, members of the Clementon and Lindenwold Fire Department's endured labor intensive training to bolster their firefighter survival skills. The morning session was conducted at Mar-Vel International Inc. in Pennsauken, NJ where students conducted situational awareness and dis-entanglement evolutions. Students relocated for the afternoon session to the Collingswood FD training grounds where the class was taught upper floor egress and SCBA Confidence techniques. The class was a great success with students learning of to get themselves out of trouble if encountered on the fireground.


 
   
   
Rapid Intervention Crew Basic Operations - Open Enrollment

Students completed the 12 hour Rapid Intervention Crew Basic Operations class over this past weekend. The lecture portion was delivered on Thursday night by Instructor Stallfort. The information learned in the lecture was reinforced on Saturday through (5) practical skills stations. The students were instructed on techniques such as search/assesment, horizontal drags & stair removals, window removals, denver drill, & floor removals. All students were provided with the foundation to initial firefighter rescue operations.


 
   
   
Personal Harness Use - Open Enrollment Class

An open enrollment Personal Harness Use class was held on Sunday November 8th. The class exceeded it's capacity with 31 students from Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, & Salem Counties. The day was started with a brief lecture on care/maintenance, proper sizing, & specific uses of the personal harness. The remainder of the day consisted of 3 practical skills stations focusing on techiniques to employ the personal harness. The program was very well received by the students which established a new found respect for their personal harness.


 
   
   
Mayday Recognition Held For Blackwood & Pine Hill Firefighters

The Mayday Recognition program was delivered to over 35 firefighters & fire officers from the Blackwood and Pine Hill Fire Departments. Students endured several different situations forcing them to transmit a Mayday or Urgent message. Several valuable lessons were learned and reinforced by all the firefighters involved. This joint training program went extremely well and we look forward to future training endeavors with these departments.


 
   
   
Mayday Recognition in Merchantville, NJ

The Mayday Recognition program was held for the members of the Merchantville FD on Wednesday October 28th. Through lecture and practical based training, students were taught how to recognize and successfully transmit a fire ground Mayday. An excellant effort was put worth by the firefighters to provide for a great training session.


 
   
   
Weekday Open Enrollment Mayday Recognition
Tuesday, October 27, 2009

A Mayday Recognition class as an open enrollment program was held during the daytime hours on Tuesday October 27 at the the Camden County Emergency Training Center. Students were instructed through lecture and practical based training on the proper techniques to recognize mayday/urgent situations. Emphasis was placed on recognitions skills and proper radio transmissions. The class was attended by firefighters & fire officers from Pennsauken (NJ), Rutledge (PA), and Newton Square (PA).


 
   
   
Drill Session Held For Beaver Brook Regional Fire Alliance

A drill session class was held for the Beaver Brook Regional Fire Alliance focusing on Firefighter Survival & Rescue skills. The training was held at an acquired structure in Runnemede, NJ with over 40 students from the Barrington, Bellmawr, Haddon Heights, & Runnemede FD's in attendance. Students rotated through (4) practical skill stations which included wall breaches, peaked roof removals, floor removals, and basement ventilation to support a firefighter rescue. An excellant learning experience was had by all. These type of drill sessions can held at any fire department on any firefighter survival or rescue skills.


 
   
   
RIC Basic Ops Conducted in Woodstown, NJ

The RIC Basic Operations class was conducted in Woodstown, NJ for the Reliance and Elmer Fire Companies. Students completed a 3 hour class room session followed by an 8 hour practical day that following weekend. The practical evolutions were held in 3 acquired structures covering several different search and removal techniques.  


 
   
   
2009 New Jersey State Firefighter's Convention Hands-On Training

Huge success for the 2nd annual Hands-On Training at the NJ State Firefighter's Convention. Over 80 firefighters from across the tri-state area participated in the hands-on training venue held in Wildwood, NJ. There were 2 class offerings which included Safety & Survival and Forcible Entry.
